  1. i am serching for that to but i am older i am fixing to be 14! i want to find out to and i am trying to get a record deal and if i get one i will let you know!

  2. I'm from Sarasota too. I would recommend starting out taking lessons at Venice Little Theater www.venicestage.com, that's where I used to take lessons. Florida Studio Theater is also a really good place to get into acting and much closer to where you probably are, www.floridastudiotheatre.org.

  3. I too live in FL. but haven't been 10 for 54 years. Certainly answer 1 offers a valid suggestion for the location, and ANY education is valid, most especially at 10 years old.

Since you haven't gone through that educational process yet, and may not know the genre you want to study for, I suspect Live performance theater is where you'll begin.

In your area certainly theater must run Summer youth programs, as they do in most communities throughout the state. You might manage to connect with those in Community theaters, Schools, etc.

Obviously as a minor for another 8 years, your parents or guardian will have to be involved, in almost all you do.

  4. You're at a great age to start learning the craft of acting. You should begin by taking lessons. If you are interested in working on Broadway, you will need to study singing, dancing and acting. Learning to play a musical instrument is beneficial, also.

It's a good idea to start auditioning for community theater. Check the newspapers and chamber of commerce in your area for these theaters and find out when they will be auditioning and what is required of kids who want to audition. Small parts and ensemble parts are great for kids just starting out. It allows you to participate, so you learn what is involved in putting on a play and you also learn the language of theater. If you would like more detailed information about all of the above you can check out this website for kids and teens...

    Best of luck!
