How do I Connect camera to PC?

I have a JVC GR-SXM745. Last time one of my family members connected it to the PC without the use of a firewall because the camera bought another type of cable with it. I just want to know how can I connect it beacuase he isnt here to teach me how. It's one of those cables that look like the ones you connect your harddrive to your PC screen. And another question. I lost the CD that you can use to edit your videos on your computer and want to know if I can download that program anywhere else. I cant seem to find it in the JVC website.

  1. Read the manual.

The JVC GR-SXM745 is a VHS-C analog camcorder. You will need to use the AV cable that came with the camcorder (and for just the video, perhaps a S-Video cable).

Some PCs have AV capture cards that you connect the AV cable (or S-Video and the audio side of the AV cable).

If yours does not, then you need an external "analog/digital bridge". If your computer has only USB, then

If your computer has firewire, then

This camcorder came with a "PC cable", but chances are pretty good transfer won't work that way... and your computer may not have the port you need... and apparently, the software that came with the camcorder in the box...

This camera does not have "Firewire" (not firewall). It also does not have USB.
