How do I Load CHDK on my Canon Camera?!?

I have a Brand New Canon PowerShot SX100 IS, and I want to Load CHDK onto it, so that I can take Pictures in RAW & TIFF Format's, and I also want a Battery Meter on the Display.

I downloaded the Newest Firmware (1.00c) for my Camera, as well as the BIN File for it. I have yet to load it on my Camera, cause I don't know how!

So, How do I Load the new Firmware, and how do I install the Options I want?!?

(I'm new to this CHDK thing.)

  1. Canon's website has the newest firmware for your camera and there are instructions on how to install it.

This is what I found on Google

    http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

It seems that you will be able to shoot in RAW, but not TIFF ... you can process the RAW to a TIFF file using Photoshop

  2. There is a GUI program called cardtricks that will automate loading CHDK onto a memory card.  Link follows:

The trick to actually getting the camera to load chdk once its on the card is to write-protect the card (don't worry, you can still write to it with chdk even though the switch is set to protected) or perform a firmware update AFTER TURNING THE CAMERA ON WITH THE PLAY BUTTON, NOT THE ON/OFF BUTTON.
