How do I Prep my bedroom to repaint?

alright, my room has been the same color for years. the paint is in relatively good shape. i know i have to repair any holes/cracks in my wall, but i also have some wallpaper going about three feet up the wall. my little sister has ripped away at chunks of it, even though i told her not to... so the question is:

how do i remove the paint, how much do i remove, and how do i remove the damaged wallpaper WITHOUT hurting my wall? please help, i would like to do this myself, and not overpay a professional. Thank You in advance for serious answers! it's really appreciated!

ok ,heres what you do. you put your hand in your pocket. You pull out small metal item. You punch small metal item. And then you call a porfessional! I'm sorry, but if youwaned it done right, you need professionals doing the work. If you do it wrong on yur own, andend up messingup your wall, thn youll be payin more tofix it then it would have taken to pay someone to do t CORRCTLY for you! Ifyou don't wana over pay, do your research. look for good prices and dont over pay. the excuse that 'i dont wanna over pay' is only saying that you wer to lazy to look for someone reasonable.
