I have a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE video card and a TV tuner in my system, when I hook up my VCR to my tuner (channel 3) the sound is distorted, the next time I try it the sound is fine and the picture is distorted. I am using coax cable from my VCR to my PC. This is a homemade video, it can't be encrypted. What is the problem? I want to make a DVD, after putting it on my harddrive.

  1. I don't know if you've done this successfully before but you video card has TV Tuner capabilities.  That means you can input a TV signal and watch on your computer.  I don't believe that also means video capture capability.  They are two very different animals.  And while today, it is more common for a computer to have both abilities (media centers and all) I don't think is was common back in the GEForce 6xxx series.

  2. Looks like a cable/cable connection problem.

Try a different cable and make sure all connections are tight.
