How do I Skim board?

I am at the beach and I need to know how to Skim board.

u run down beach holding board

when u see a spot with about 2 inches of water, throw the board

run and jump onto board

ride towards waves so u can jump them or do a flip

it just takes a lot of practice. you have to take the good and the bad. if you want to become a skimboarder you cant be afraid to get lots of cuts and bruises. i like to skimboard to the side and not straight into the ocean like some people prefer. right when the wave is heading back into the ocean i throw the board in shallow water. when you throw it make sure that you dont throw it so far that by the time that you run up to it to jump on the board it has lost momentum. it also helps if you throw the board from a lower height. it also helps if you watch over skimboarders. you can really learn a lot from them! good luck!

im a surfer...but i skim too..

its just like snow boarding, just horizontally against the waves in 3-5 inches of water...right before the peak swell.  Good luck!
