  1. It has to be soldered. If you can master a pencil iron, then you "may" be able to pull this off. If not, I would suggest leaving it for someone who has done it before.


  2. Radio Shack sells them.  They used to sell little project and How To books, maybe buy one and practice first or find  an old radio and practice removing and installing parts. After typing this you may be getting into a can of worms, they went to lead free solder a few years ago, it's not fun to work with.
