How do I accelerate the formation of calluses for playing acoustic guitar?

It feels like I have cuts all over my left hand's set of fingers! It burns I cant even type properly, in fact ive written this scentece over 5 times now! How can I acelerate it? I hate the pain! I've been trying to play the ending of Juno the movie, and I can do it, its just that the thinnest string is f'ing up my fingers! BTW they are steel.

i had the same problem. calluses never developed because i got some nylon strings. i've been playing for about 3 years. sometimes if i play the same song over and over because i'm trying to learn it, my fingers will get sick of it but that doesn't happen often.

i've never had cuts because of playing.

i suggest you get softer strings for a whie.

that song doesn't merit pain. at all.
