How do I access Gaelic or Irish characters on my keyboard?

You mean how to do fada's?

You hold AltGr button while typing the letter.

(AltGr is on the right hand side of the space bar).

If that doesnt work it means your keyboard is not set to Irish settings. To set it to Irish setting-

-Under the start menu click on "Control Panel"

-Click on "Regional and Language Options"

-Click on the "languages" tab and then click "details"

-for the "default input language" pick "England (Ireland)- Irish"

- for the keyboard pick "England (Ireland) Keyboard"- Irish" and click add.

The the AltGr should work.
