Question:

How do I access the media on my SD card?

I got an SD card yesterday, just to load pictures/videos from my Wii to my laptop and onto the internet. I inserted the card into the drive I found on my laptop (a little slot on the side... it fit, so I assume it's the SD drive). Nothing popped up signaling that the card had loaded (though a little blue light near the drive flashed), so I went into computer > devices with removable storave. Unfortunately, the only thing that came up was the E drive, the one for CDs. So now I can't find the media on my SD card... does this mean my computer is out of date (I bought it not a year ago, though it was somewhat basic), or is there something I can do to access the pictures and videos?

Thanks in advance.

  1. look at your SD card! if it's a SDHC card, it may not be recognized by your  computer's card reader. > solution: buy a new one (external); they're very cheap (pay attention to the fact that this one IS compatible with SDHC cards! and also that it is USB 2.0 compatible, so you don't grow a beard while transferring large files :) ).

if it's a regular one, try inserting it face down as it is now. (turn it upside down and insert again). it may be a cheap card reader which has not a 'wrong way protection'. (anyway, it doesn't happen anything bad if inserted like this!)
