How do I access the message history on a yahoo group I just joined?

over to the left of any group, if you do not see a tab 'Message', the archives are closed to members.

Go to the homepage of the group you have just joined.

On the left-hand side of the page there is a list.

On this list (if the messages section is not restricted by the owner of the group) click on the "messages" icon.

A list of archived messages come up.
