How do I achieve my dream?

I have studied animal care for the past two years and am now going on to study animal science. My main interest is with reptiles and other exotic animals, namely snakes. I would like in the future to embark on my own zoo/animal park which where I would keep a range of these animals, provide information, and allow people to become involved. There is no such thing in the whole of my home county so there is place for one.

The thing is right now I am lacking confidence since I feel everyone will tut and assume its pie in the sky. However I would like it to be a serious ambition. I am not business minded, and do not what I need to do in order to set up such a place. Do you? What should I start thinking about or doing right now?

Get a degree business and zoo related. You'll need knowledge of both to start and operate a zoo. Starting and maintain a business can be very difficult and expensive.

It's going to be expensive, so start saving and look into loans (as suggested above). Maybe, see about partnering with someone. Talk to different zoos for advise. Research how zoos are started. What permits, laws, requirements, does your county have for owning a business and owning/caring for/handling wild and exotic animals?

save or get a loan, get some business advice, as much as possible from the internet and the bank. You need some land, you could maybe start advertising for any unwanted reptiles as long as you have the time and money to care for them, your business should grow over time so don't rush it
