How do I achieve the f/3.5 on my Nikon lens? 18-55 I can only set at 5.6.?

  1. There is a 1/2 click from f5.6 which takes you to f3.5 when available.


  2. the minimum aperture on the lens ( 18-55mm ) is f/3.5, however you can only take advantage of this when you're fully zoomed into 18mm, when you move it in between 18-24mm, it increases to f/3.8, and there's there's nothing you can do about that. And when you get to 24mm even, it goes to f/4. It keeps going up.

    And, at 55mm, the longest it can zoom, the aperture goes to f/5.6, which you obviously know. However, if your not at 55mm, you can decrease it by holding the button on the right of the " info" button on the top of the camera, and move the wheel to the right. However, the only way you can get f/3.5 is if you're at 18mm.
