How do I acquire a Driver's License?

Hello, I'm 17 years old, and I've yet to get my driver's license. This weekend I was planning on getting my permit, or at least the guide in which to study from. Which brings up question one, is the DMV open on Sundays?

Anyway, like I said, I'm 17 (18 in a few months), and I'm wondering: after I acquire my permit, how long will I have to wait in order to get my license? I heard you can get it immediatly after turning 18, is this true?

  1. Hi!! No the dmv is not open on weekends. bummer, i kno. :(

And yes, you can get your license immediately after turning 18.

Get your permit and drive as often as possible, the driving portion of the test can be difficult of you aren''t used to driving the car you are testing in.

    Hope this helps!!

  2. In order to get your drivers license you should find out where in your area they give the driving exam and sign up. In my home town it was at the community center but I moved later in life and the place in this area was the state police headquarters.  Your dmv should be able to tell you where to go. They or the police station should also be able to give you your drivers instructional book which you need to study to get your license.  First you must take a written test and then take the drivers test I believe within 3 months (I can't remember. It's been 10 years ago...)

I'm sorry, but after that point I really don't remember anything about the process.
