How do I add European maps to my Garmin C320 GPS?

Hi,

I have a Garmin C320 GPS. I have only used it as it came out of the box. I have never loaded or used the PC software for it (I'm not sure if I even know where that is now). In any case, I'm going to Ireland in a week and I'd like to load the Ireland maps on the GPS so that I can use it during my trip. What is the process to do this? I've read some of Garmin's stuff on their site, but it's pretty confusing!

  1. You'll want Garmin's City Navigator NT for Europe DVD.  It comes with a certificate for activation, and instructions for doing that.  You should be able to just open the MapSource program, which would detect your C320 and let you send maps to the C320 (or the SD card you put inside it).  If the C320 is not detected, you might need to dig up the software that came with the unit and install it, so your PC will have the drivers to recognize the C320.

Too bad Garmin doesn't have the Europe maps on pre-loaded SD cards.  That would make things so much easier for you.
