Question:

How do I add a light to a dormitory shower?

My sister just moved into her dorm room and we found out there is almost no light inside her shower. It's really dark and creepy in there.

Since its a dormitory shower, halogen lights and new wiring is out of the question. If it's possible we want to add something waterproof inside the shower or just clip the light on top of the shower door area.

We need something safe and durable enough to last a year, and we don't want anyone electrocuted.

  1. Your best bet is one of those touch-n-tap lights that use batteries.  They are convenient, use no electricity, and provide an economical light.

  2. You basically have two options:

    * Put in a floor or desk lamp near the bathroom which throws enough light to be useful.

    * Complain to the school, repeatedly if need be, until they have a professional fix it.

I'd be willing to bet one or more lights in the bathroom which are supposed to be there, are missing or not working.  It's not like builders haven't been building bathrooms to have proper lighting for several decades...

  3. Maybe get  a waterproof LED clip on light. Or see if you can get  higher power brighter light bulbs.

  4. You can try those lights that you push to turn on. I see them on tv sometimes. They're battery powered and in a circle. You push them, and they turn on. In the commercial they use them to light closets without electricity, but it should work in the bathroom.
