How do I add a shadow to my #container div on both sides?

I have a header, nav bar and body that are all different colors. I took a selection of 950 pixels wide in photoshop and added a drop shadow.

My problem is how to add the drop shadow to both sides of the div and have it still be stretchy if the text is resized.

  1. If the container div is a fixed width, you can create a background image of a shadow (1px tall) on the <body> element to repeat down the length of the page.

    So basically, the shadow picture is behind everything.
