  1. Okay this is kind of hard to do if you have never really worked with pixels and a photoeditor and sizer..

If you are familar with all those things.. then to get one that fills the entire page.. it depends on your monitor size.. I would say a good size to start with would be 1600x 1800 and then just work with that .. remember you can't go bigger in size than 250 kbs.

My recommendation to you would be to go to this link and join this group here on Yahoo.. they have all the information you will ever need and literally hundreds of backgrounds to choose from.. and they do take special projects if they have time for you.

  2. UPDATE: It will be impossible to create a background that fits perfectly for every possible monitor. Just be concerned with how the background looks on your screen. It will be a trial and error situation because comments and other modules can elongate the page.

Typically, with a Y!360 space (with few exceptions as stated below), you are not technically adding a "theme", but rather a image that you've downloaded from the internet and then adjusting colors.

You can either use the backgrounds created by Yahoo, which you can't adjust in any way (but they fill the entire screen) OR you can create a custom theme. If you want to use the pre-made background, click on the "My Page" link next to your "Home" link. Then, at the top under that line of links is the word "Theme: [name of whatever theme you currently have]." Click the "Change Theme" link that's directly under those words. Select one and click the "Apply Theme" button. If you want to customize your theme, see below:

If you've NEVER WORKED with your custom theme before:

After logging into 360, click on the "My Page" link next to your "Home" link. Then, at the top under that line of links is the word "Theme: [name of whatever theme you currently have]." Click the "Change Theme" link that's directly under those words.

On the new page that comes up, there's a paragraph stating "Select a Theme - Change the look of your Yahoo! 360° page by picking a theme. Click "Apply Theme" to make the change." Directly under that click a link called "Customize Your Theme." A new "Customize Your Theme" window will pop up where you can insert .jpg images as well as customize colors.

If you HAVE WORKED with the custom theme window before:

Click the "Edit Custom Theme" link toward the top left of your "My Page."

If you want an image to fill the entire 360 space, it should be at least 1064 pixels wide (or slightly more) by 2100-2200 pixels in height. Upload the image as a single background image and choose to tile it. You'll have to play around with it a bit to get it right (lower or higher resolution, cropping, and other size adjustments get it under 360 specifications) by using a photo editor like Microsoft Paint, which is on most Windows computers in the Accessories section. I personally have an old version of Adobe Photoshop that I use. Typically it's the height dimension that needs increasing and the decreasing of quality upon saving the image as a JPEG. Also, you will have breaks depending on the length of your blog area, but at least you can get your top page to have no breaks.

OR you can get really fancy. Instead of uploading a single image tiled, you can upload an image for the top and one for the bottom. If the images have the same color background and you make the page background that color, then it will look seamless. ;-)

Here is a directory of wallpaper/background sites: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2006/12/... . You can also search for images via keyword searches on Google at http://images.google.com . Right-click on the image and choose "Save Image As" or something similar to save an image to your hard drive.

You may want to TRY joining these groups, as they may provide some good tips as well:

REMEMBER: Your background picture must be JPEG formatted (.jpg, .jpeg, or .jpe as the extension) and under 250KB in file size. If you go big (at least 1000+ pixels on each dimension), look for a high-quality image. It's best to start clear and work your way down.

TIP: If you are browsing public 360 pages and you see a theme that you like, click on "Make This Theme Mine" link to overwrite your theme with that one (located just above the counter on the Top Page - left side). This excludes pictures the person may have uploaded (i.e. images in the background).

    Good luck! Enjoy!

  3. download it from xboxlive

  5. magic

  6. First of all, you have to fit it according to the resolution of your screen. Let's say your PC screen is about 17", before you save it in your folder, make sure the resolution is 1024x768 pixels for 15-17inch screen AND less than 250KB not MB!

Here are some nice wallpapers: http://www.vladstudio.com/wallpapers/?or...

    Cheat sheet:

    1024x768 pixels       for 15" monitor

    1280×1024 pixels    for 17" monitor

    1440×900 pixels      for 19" monitor
