How do I adjust a recipe/baking time/temp to enable me to use a 20cm tin instead of a 23cm tin?

I need to bake a smaller size cake to fit a 20cm box. the recipe I want to use reqires a 23cm tin. I need to know how to adjust the recipe/ baking time and temp

  1. You shouldn't have to adjust anything in your recipe to use a smaller baking tin. It only works out to be 1 1/4 inches difference. The outcome will be so minimal, you wouldn't even notice it


  2. you can bake it at the regular time start watching it to be done about 15 minutes before...test it and judge whether it needs more time or less..this is how i bake when i bake cakes etc in cake pans that are not listed on the box

  3. Bake at the regular temp.  Your cake will actually take a little longer to bake because it will be taller than in the larger pan.  Check it at the regular amount of time and then add from there.
