Question:

How do I adjust a slice in my drive?

I've only played for a few months, but when I tee off, my ball slices badly.. I usually just line up aiming way to the left so my slice will bring the ball to the fairway but I would like to straighten out my drive so all the distance the ball moves right, it will move forward instead. Any pointers?

  1. It can be due to many things:

    Swing Path

    Club Face not square

    Wrong Grip

    Incorrect stance

Unless you go and search on the net and find out what you will be stuck for a while...

Im not saying that you won't be able to cure it but from experiance I would simply pay £15-£25 and have 30mins lesson.

The pro will tell you exactly why you are slicing, and how to fix it.

This is going to stop all the stress you will find yourself under from finding the source of the slice.

  2. First off.....you can't adjust a slice.  the only way to get rid of a slice is to correct the swing flaw that is causing it......The only way to correct a swing flaw that works.....Is      (wait for it)........ Lessons and dedicated practice.......no book.....no video....no magic spell.....no silver bullet....and definetly no swing tips from Yahoo answers is going to correct your swing flaws!

  3. There are 3 factors that cause 90% of slices.

The first is your aim is right of your target, causing your body to try to swing at your target creating an outside in swing that puts spin on the ball promoting a slice. So step 1 (Check your alignment at the teebox)

The second thing that is usually you have to weak of a grip, try gripping the club so that the v's in your hands bolth line up and your left shoulder, this will help you square the clubface at impact.

And the last thing, also kinda linked to the first one is you could be standing with your stance open wich promotes a fade or slice, move your back foot back a liitle bit to close your stance, this will help your swing a little more and should straighten out that slice.

If none of the 3 tips above work then I would go see a golf pro as there could be something else wrong with your swing that is oustide of these all to common problems.

  4. usually when you are slicing the ball, your clubface is too open. so if you are right handed this would mean to turn the face to the right a little, opposite if lefty. just practice on the range for a little and you should get better with practice

  5. A golf slice can only get worse if you let it go unattended! And you may aggravate your slice if you try to fix it on your own... which could lead you to give up the game altogether.

there is a golf swing guide out there that can eliminate your slice, and change your life... allowing you to feel satisfied and fulfilled after a round of golf!

  6. There are alot of reasons but some obvious reasons are

1.you mite be coming over at down swing.

    2.Open club face at impact

    hope it helped =]
