How do I adjust my screen size after putting my laptop into a docking station?

I was given a docking station for my laptop. I plugged everything in and it works great. However, I am seeing the screen at the same size as my laptop and not the full 19" of my monitor. I have a black area above and below the picture where the monitor is not being used. How do I adjust the laptop so it will use the full 19" of the monitor?

  1. XP: Right click on your desktop and click properties. Then go to the display tab or something to that effect and have a tinker with the screen resolutions. Slide the slider up and down and click apply until you get the result.

Vista: Right click on your desktop and click Personalise. Click Display Settings. Slide the resolution slider and click apply until you're happy.

    Hope that helps!
