Question:

How do I adjust the cam chain tension on a Suzuki DRZ-125?

Does the tension automatically adjust when I loosen the locknut-setcrew combination? Should I do it when the engine is hot or cold?

Same engine as a Kawasaki KLX 125.

  1. Adjust the tensioner, this is the little piece that pushes the chain inwards. You need to loosen it then press and tighten.

If a grown man is riding a 125, then you will see this happen a lot. Its time to step it up and get a 250, they are meant for heavier adults.

If a young kid is riding it, you need to get a new chain, because im sure you got it fairly new? but chains do get worn out and spread after a good use, just use the tensioner, and if its too long still, take a link out.
