How do I advertise my landscaping business?

I'm trying my best to do so but my parents aren't very friendly to the surrounding neighbors (not like being mean but barely knowing them). I made a pretty good flyer but I don't know where I should put them. Hand it out? Tape it to their doors? Put at a local stop and shop?

Here are some tips

1. Create a website

2. Post your site on local websites in your town (chamber of commerce, library, etc)

3. Write a blog about your business and dive people tips on landscaping ideas and be sure to include your contact info. You can write a blog on wordpress.com, squidoo.com

4. Tell everyone you know!

5. Advertise on Google.

Take the flyer and go knock on doors. Hand it to them and ask for their business. If you print a flyer most people will be just annoyed if you stick it on their mailbox.

Make sure you tell them about the quality of work and you will do and tell them the first time you mow their lawn you cut your rate and half  to prove to them you will do a good job. The next time tell them you feel they will be glad to pay full price. This would be a very affective means of starting your business.Always ask for a referral even if they turn you down. Flyers is the best way to start that type of company but do not throw them next to the mailbox , people hate that and will just throw them out and not read. But don't give up , you will find that alot of people will hold on to flyers for months before they will call , this is something they do to see if they see your company name somewhere eles other than on a flyer.

print your company name on everthing and make it happen, good luck

Do all of them.  Post them at local stores.  Hand them out in parking lots.  Don't tape to peoples doors but use rubber bands to attach to the door k***s.  Also do not put them in mailboxes because the Post Office will give you trouble on that.  Put out as many as you can and I bet you will start getting some business.  Then let word of mouth spread around how good your services are.  Once you start making money at it you could try mailing into different neighborhoods.  Good luck to you!
