I was thinking 4+8. Or would it be 4+ 12?

    -2^2 =4

    I2-10I = |-8| = 8

    so 4+ 8 = 12


  2. If you mean (-2)^2 +|2-10| then yes the answer is 4+8. You work out the value inside the modulus first and then (possibly) change its sign as you had to here.
