Question:

How do I apply a racket head protection tape?

I just bought this "Wilson Racket Saver". It's a tape that is for sticking over the head frame of the racket. I have no idea how to apply it though. Can it really just be as simple as sticking it around the frame? do i need to cut it or pull on it tightly as I go around?

Thanks

  1. at the top of your racquet where its all plastic lining, just take a strip long enough to cover it.  I usually put it on tightly but not too much; just enough to stay on and cover the major scratch areas. oh yea and you dont really need to cut it unless its too long (down to the neck), but the more coverage, the more "saving", but keep in mind that it might weigh down your racquet head a little

  2. Yep. It's that simple.  Just press it firmly around the outside of the frame.  You'll only need to cover from just below 9 o'clock to just below 3 o'clock.  It's good to pull it a little tight, but you really just need to make sure there's no slack.  And it shouldn't make a noticeable difference to weight/balance.  Sure, it will have some effect, but they tape is very light and made to not mess up the feel of the racquet.
