Question:

How do I apply for a UK student visa extention?

My current student visa expires in October but I will be in the UK until March 2009 to complete my studies. Is there a separate application process for extentions or do I basically do what I did before and fill up the same form to apply for a new visa? I've checked the www.vfs-uk-sg.com website and their FAQ does not address this. I thought I would check here before calling them up or emailing them.

  1. If you enter the UK with a student visa or prospective student visa, or if you want to study on a course at degree level or higher, you can apply to the UK Border Agency. The UK Border Agency will charge you a non-refundable fee for any application to extend your stay in the UK.

If you enter the UK with a student visitor visa, you will not be allowed to extend your stay.
