...For a moped. I'm 15, but 16 in less than two weeks. Do you HAVE to be 16 to apply for one? Also, how or where do i apply for one? I'd really want a vespa LX? 50 cc.

I have no idea how much this all costs either... I'm just thinking about it right now, but if you could tell me the important stuff?

  1. fill in a application form, you get them from the post office

  2. Go on line to the DVLA as you should be able to download an application form in PDF format. You will need photos etc. Also, you will need to take a CBT before you can get the moped. Once you have got your licence you can book the CBT which will cost in the region of £100

  3. u need 2 go 2 ur local post office and get a form 4 ur provisional it should let u no how much u have 2 send off as for ur bike it depends where u go its cheaper 2 buy private usually but if u havent got the full amount u will have 2 go 2 a shop and have it on finance where u pay monthly

  4. You can apply now;

    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Dri...

    You need to budget for training (a CBT test to ride a moped)

    Insurance

    Tax

    Fuel

    Maintenance

    Proper clothing

    Repairs

  5. you dont need to be 16 to apply for 1. you need to go to post office to get the correct forms. this should come with a leaflet helping you fill it out. get an adult to help you if it makes it easier. it costs around £30 or did when i got 1 3 years ago.

    BTW i think you should wait until you can drive a car cos at least you have surroundings to protect u unlike mopeds are soooooo dangerous. I fell off and broke my wrist...i'm lucky thats all I broke cos of some oil that i didnt see on the road. They are really annoying cos they are soo noisy and will p**s off all your neighbours!
