How do I apply for public assistance (welfare, food stamps, Section 8, unemployment, ) in Greensboro, NC?

I am moving to Greensboro in a few months for college and I wanted to apply for public assistance to help me out. How do I go about this? I have tried to research on my own, but I don't even know where to begin.

  1. Get a job and support yourself.  If you have money for college, you should not need any more of a handout.

  3. Well if you dont have children, you cant get welfare, but you can get food stamps.  Go to the TANF office.  Also, fill out a FAFSA for financial aid.
