i was fired from my job a month ago because i stopped showing up. i talked to the mananager of the store, who said if it was up to him, i'd get rehired. but, i have to talk to the department manager. so i called my manager 5minites ago and asked him if i could speak with him later. he sounded surprised to hear me and said yea sure come between 2:30 and 5. now, what should i say and how should i act to make a good impression?

  1. the fact that he is agreeing to meet with you is a good sign.  I would explain to him what happened (if anything) and tell him that you won't leave the company in a lurch again.  but me, personally, I wouldn't rehire you

  2. First you apologize for being a bad employee, then you lay out the plan of action you have for your self to be a better employee, and then you hope for the best!!

  3. I would think you'd have to say something to re-assure the boss that wouldn't happen again.  Better have a good reason for doing it the first time too...  I'd be surprised if they hired you back after that though...
