How do I approach this girl?

Question

I knew this person from my junior high that I really really liked and she was bi too, and I know she still is so that's not what I'm worried about. The thing is, she was forced to transfer to a different junior high in December 2008. We were good friends and were about to be more, but she said she couldn't deal with long distance relationships. I've seen her around the high school and have wanted to talk to her, but I can't get up the nerve. How do I approach her?

Just like walk up to her and be like, heyyy, havent seen you in a while

Just smile & wave.  If it seems natural, say "hey, good to see you."
