How do I ask an organisation to delete my bank and credit card details?

I’ve got an Ebay and Paypal account and trying to remove these details from both. I don’t see a way at all on Ebay. Paypal account is limited so I can’t remove them.

Is there a government agency that can assist with this? I don’t want to cancel my credit cards just for this. Is there a law that requires businesses to delete these details if asked?

  1. If you login to ebay there is an option (button) to cancel your account.

If you contact Paypal and give them a good reason they will delete your account.

Why do you want to do this? If you answer this in additional information there might be other ways to achieve what you want.

  2. just say you wanna cancel

  3. 1. no.  Wons sumwon no bout an akkount, oenlee wae tu get em tu remuve 1 item is tu konvins em that item if fawls=a lie.

  4. You can delete bank accounts and credit cards from Paypal.  Just go to My Account > Profile > Add or Edit Bank Account (or Add or Edit Credit Card).  They won't let you delete your *primary* account, so you will need to add another one, and make it the primary, before you can delete your current primary account.

Now, if you don't want ANY accounts on your Paypal account, then you will simply have to cancel your Paypal account.  You cannot have a Paypal account that is not connected to any bank account or credit card, since this defeats the purpose of Paypal.

  5. For paypal to state your account as limited you either owe them money or are under investigation of some sort, whether its a dispute for unpaid goods or because they believe there has been unauthorised access to your account. Until you either pay the money you owe or the dispute is closed you wont be able to close your account or remove your credit card or bank details. You will need to cancel your credit card as paypal will just take any money owed to them after about 10 daysof it being limited. Ebay doesn't keep your financial details, just your personal details, address, age etc. But be warned if you cancel your cards and not pay them they will send debt collectors after you even for the smallest amount!
