How do I ask my old employer?

I got fired from my last job because they found on my back ground check I got arrested for not having insurance last year. Because it was such a little offense I went and got that expunged. I want to go back because I really like this job. So how can I professionally tell them I got my record expunged here is my proof and hopefully they will take me back.

I'm not sure what type of insurance your referring to that you got arrested for?

But I think if it was as you said a small offense then you said it yourself.

  Just explain the situation to them. Some companies can not hire you no matter what. Some will have to wait for a certain time period before they could do another background search and it look legit.

All in the company and their policy ! No harm done in trying tho !

You can always ask,because the worst thing they can do is say "no." They may not have shared your opinion that this is a "little offense .. They may have considered this a "little offense." as a  lack of responsibility.
