How do I ask "Do I need to make a reservation?" for a restaurant in Paris?

I'm trying to find out if "brasserie" type restaurants in Paris require reservations. I'm going to call ahead at one that I've found on the web, so I want to know the French for "are walk-ins welcome?"

The place I've found is supposed to do lunch and dinner 'til 2am, so if to experienced travelers that just means "hey, stupid of course you don't need reservations for a place like that" just let me know.

  1. Dois-je reserver une table ou ce n'est pas la peine?

  2. For an informal brasserie, you don't need to reserve, and I know such places in Paris serving meals till 5am !!!

If you do want to ask - you could say "faut-il reserver un table? or  est-ce que je dois reserver un table?

But really in Paris it is only the quite expensive or really popular restaurants that need to be reserved, especially so late, only if you are in a large group.

  3. est-ce que réservations sont exigées ?

  4. Brasseries' are strictly walk in places.. most have tables on the sidewalk, even.  So you only need to go and sit down or wait to be served.  Just be prepared to be shocked at what it will cost for even the simplest item on the menu... you are in for a  BIG TIME sticker shock.

  5. je dois faire une réservation ?
