Question:

How do I avoid being taken advantage of?

It seems like, in every situation, I get taken advantage of. When we do groupwork in school, I often end up doing the ENTIRE project because the other people say they'll do something and then just dont. At home, my sister and I are given chores and whatnot that we need to do and I end up doing most of them becuase she goes out with her boyfriend or says she has to work.

It seems that everywhere I look, I'm being taken advantage of. I talk to my teachers about the groupwork and they say they'll do something, but they never do. I talk to my parents about not getting the help and they say they'll take care of it, but they 'forget.' So now I'm taking this into my own hands. How can avoid getting stuck doing everything? What's the best way I can fix this problem without talking to a teacher or parent (because they DONT help).

  1. just stop doing for those then they will see all that you do

  2. You have to learn to say no!!!  You are treated the way you let people treat you.   Heres another one-- If you always do what you have always done you'll always get what you always got.  So think about that.  Do what you are told and let others deal with what they didnt.  You take care of you not everyone else.  As long as you take up the slack everyone will expect it.  So start now and change and feel good about it.

  3. I have been there, done that and even got the shirt. I would do as I have many of a time, and confront the people that you feel you are being taken advantage of personally. Now mind you, you don't have to be mean or disrespectful to get your point across to be heard. Just be tactful, calm and straightforward.
