How do I back up my computer to a DVD?

I want to back up my whole computer to a DVD because my computer has just recovered from a MAJOR incident. When I go to System Tools in the start menu, I can only back up data to a flash drive and it wont let me back up to the DVD. Yes the blank DVD is in the drive. I have a windows OS XP. I am not willing to pay for anything. I also want to make a recovery disk. How do I do that. Remember, I'm only 15 so I don't have a lot of money. Not willing to pay because I have a tight budget right now and I just got my wamu card declined.

  2. Download Macrium Reflect Free

    http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.asp

it can create an "image" of your entire drive which you burn to dvd

click on "create a backup image" and follow the wizard that appears

    see here

    http://www.upload3r.com/serve/030808/121...

    Backup method - select "full"

Select the disk or partitions you wish to backup

Select CD/DVD Burner as backup destination

You can also create a rescue disc which you can use to boot your system in case of failure; go to Other Tasks>Create Rescue CD and again follow the wizard.
