I would like to do all my education in the University of California system. How many years of medical school do you need? What do you do after med school? Is it true that you do not need to do any residency and all you have to do after med school is go on an internship to become a general practitioner? What happens after you are a licensed GP? How do you get a job in a hospital? How much does a GP make a year. I am really looking forward to becoming one so i need the help of actual GPs or students that are planning to become GPs as well.

  1. First you need to graduate college in either 3 or 4 years. Then you enroll into med school required 4 years. And then 2 years of residency training for example, you live in Los Angeles, then you must do medical training in the nearby area. So it'll take you 10 years to become certified as an official General practitioner.
