How do I become a Magician?

I totally do not want to be a professional, I just want to know how I can learn different tricks and such. It seems like a very interesting hobby. Any good books? Anything else?

  1. Buy a child's magic set, and practice the tricks and the misdirection when no one is looking, then work up from there.  Try getting people to look where you want them to look without their knowing they have been manipulated.  Try to do as many things by touch, as possible, while you're looking somewhere else.  Not necessarily tricks. Things like taking a pencil out of your desk drawer with one hand without their noticing, while you are drawing a picture of Homer Simpson on a piece of paper with the other.  Their concentration will generally follow your concentration, but it takes a lot of practice to do it casually.

  2. Practice makes perfect.

  3. Check out your local library, they should have some books on the basics of card magic/sleight of hand, etc. When I was younger, toyshops used to sell a brand of magic tricks for kids/teenagers, called Marvin's Magic - see if there are still any of those around. There may even be tutorials on YouTube, which I can imagine would be helpful.

  4. First, you have to be blessed with the magician spell....lean in closer.....

    HOMINA NOMINA SHOMINA DOMINA!!!!!!!

    you are now a magician.

  5. how about going to a library on books
