How do I become a licensed security guard?

I'm 19 years old, in college, with not much work experience, I live in brooklyn NY...I was told that I could take a few classes then id get a license and would be sent out to work, is that how the process works?

What is the process like and how do I go about doing this?

You can apply at any contract security company. They will train you. Any fees for the license will be taken from your first couple of checks. DO NOT go to a "school" to obtain your license. They are a total rip off and cost an arm and a leg...........

Go apply at Alliedsecurity.com they are always hiring. Then once hired they will send you to get certified.

Get a Giard License and apply to a Security Agency

Ya that's pretty much it just apply with a security guard company they will get the license its pretty much just watch a video or two and do a multiple choice test and your a security guard.

on line you could find alot or security openings that provide you with the training and your guard card its very simple as long is you have a good back ground you get it like in 1 or 2 months you don't need to go to school for that.
