  2. No one ensures you success (only scammers!). First, make yourself clear if you want a JOB or an ACTIVITY that will make you happy. If you want to be "famous" (means being professional to you), and then make money, you should differentiate that being notorious is not necesary being talented, or, even worse, will make you compromise many ethical things that you might not like to do or act in plays that you dont really like. Be professional, not famous. Make what will nurture you. Best of luck.

  3. I got started on modeling by going to

    www.modelmayhem.com

I created a profile there for myself with my measurements and the locations I am willing/able to work in and some pictures that accurately portrayed my face and body. Then, I  browsed and contacted photographers in and around my area and asked them if they would be interested in working with me for a test shoot on a TFP/TFCD basis. This means Time for Print/Time for CD (of high resolution images from your test shoot). You don't get paid, but it is an excellent way to build your portfolio without spending ridiculous amounts of money on scam artist photographers!

Contact as many photographers as you can find- you can't lose anything by asking them to collaborate with you! Also, make sure you always COMPLIMENT the photographer on their work before you ask them to work with you- it puts them in the perfect "buttered up" mood to say YES.

As for acting, there's always plenty of casting calls on Craigs List for local independent films being shot, or even big productions like commercials or movies being filmed in the area that need extras.

One thing to always remember is that NO JOB is worthless- even though you won't be paid in the beginning, it's a GREAT way to build your resume!

  5. barbizonmodeling.com

  6. I would personally start out as I am doing by taking Theater acting like plays, etc. Those are usually open to the public and free. Try a few plays if it works out, then take it on to auditioning for commericials and stuff.

Modeling, i would go to Barbizon.
