The owner of the group should "grant" you the moderatorship. You can ask him / her about that. And here is how an owner can appoint a moderator to a group:

Well, I believe you would have to ask the owner of the group to make you monitor...or something like tht....

If you are truly interested in helping the owner and the other members and the subject is of interest to you and you're at least somewhat comfortable doing tasks on the computer, send a personal note to the group owner

Well, i think that is challenging ideal " becoming a monitor". For me, I would like to ask the group for their collaboration, trust, and truthfulness.....and the team will have these virtues too. Sometimes, one of the virtues will be missing, however; we can still build and weave things together.
