  1. First, start looking at where you might want to go to graduate school.  Find out what are their requirements for entrance (GPA, courses, etc).  Make a desicion for your undergraduate years as to which major you would like to choose and start taking those classes.  You may need to consider whether you want to go to the same grad and undergrad institution.  When possible, doing them at the same place helps with the transition.  You will also most likely need to take the GRE and do some volunteer hours in a clinic.

Entrance is competitive, so be prepared to focus on your GPA in your prerequisite courses.

The APTA website is helpful for prospective students: www.apta.org

  2. Not every college or university offers this degree so start out by finding out what schools in your state offer that program.

If the college is too expensive and you want to do some of your General Education Classes at a community college or a state college - make sure you know what the transfer policy is and if you will be accepted or if there is a limit on numbers of slots for transfers.

Be prepared to continue your education to a PHD level as many states are now requiring that as well.

  3. You need a master's degree (6 years) from a good college
