  1. Well there are two ways. One being to attend an accredited jockey school.  There are two in the US. The North American Racing Academy and the Frank Garza jockey school.  You can find information about both on the internet.

The other way is to start out the way most jockeys in the business do.  Get a job working as a groom or hotwalker and work your way to becoming a exerciser rider and then a jockey.

  2. Well First you'll have to start to learn how to ride

and gallop race horses then you'll have to get ok'ed for  a license, and have a trainer who will hire you first

Then it takes lots of time you have to be ok withe stewards and break out of he gate to be ok'ed also

You will have to quit your job and work 7 days a week and maybe 5 hours a day depending where you want to start and how good you are

When I got mine,,,I never had to groom or walk hots  . I knew enough and rode well ,, so I got hired right off the bat . But I learned so much I never knew how hard it was,, but once you''ve got it it feels great  ,,

not everyone can gallop race horses or even Jockey

I tried to teach a few people But they did not have the heart for it ,

    Its pretty scary sometimes ,,

    good luck ?
