How do I become a school counselor?

Is there training / certification / what kind of job should I be looking for to gain experience?

You should contact the state education department since the requirements do vary from state to state. You will need a dour year college degree and perhaps a masters as well as prescribed classes in counseling,/

Generally an education major at a four year college or university can lead to various certification fields.  One of those fields is counseling.  Most counselors also earn a Master's Degree.  Thee is usually an internship requirement before one can be certified as a school counselor.

You pretty much need a masters degree in School Counseling or Education or School Social Work or something along those lines
