I think it would be an excellent way to make extra money while in school but when I looked for the position in job listings, I found absolutely nothing. What's my next move?

  1. Well there aren't going to be ads for singers in local cafes. What you do is call the local cafe that you would like to sing at and ask them, would you like to have entertainment at your cafe and sing in front of them and they will see if they like your style and you could be featured that night! Good luck I hope this helps you!

  2. You should call your local cafe's, hotel lounges, or if you are in a city with a touristy area you may be able to find a place where you can sing for tips.  Truth is you won't make much money in cafes but it's a way to make some extra cash and get your name out there.  Have cheap business cards made and also a notebook where you can take down people's email so you can let them know where you will be performing next.  It's all about marketing.

  3. Go to hotels with lounges in them, especially at airports where finding good help is hard to find. Make sure you can sing by popular demand first dont just go audition thinking you can sing if you cant hold a tune. Go to someone who knows how to listen to you first. Maybe try out going to kareoke parties and singing to see the reaction of people when you sing.
