How do I become a trained weather spotter?

I have always had an interest for tornadoes and I would like to "Chase them" as a career. is this a suitable career?

  1. I'm not sure about the career part, but if you would like to spot storms, you can take a class in the spring offered by the National Weather Service. I would contact your local office for more information.


  2. Apply to Oklahoma University- They are the major school and location to teach you.  Norman, Oklahoma

  3. Contact your local television station.  Speak with the meteorologist.  He or she can give you all the details on where the training is held and when.  You should also be able to get this information through your local National Weather Service office.
