  1. Hello!

I would strongly recommend you to become a pilot first and get all your ratings (Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot and Multi Engine Rating). When i started College, the very first course (Private Pilot Theory Class) started with 30 People. From those 30 people, only half of them actually finished, the other half changed careers for different reasons (Money, Didnt like it, couldnt get the hang of an airplane, etc)... You also need to get your First Class medical Certificate to know you are actually capable of flying an airplane. If you are capable of finishing the pilot training, you will be capable of being an Air Rescue Pilot.

    Hope this helps!

    Jose.

  2. Look into your local Civil Air Patrol. They perform lots of search and rescue missions, they also offer training.
