How do I become an EMT-B?

Question

What are the pre-requisites, because I didn't take much science in high-school. I went as far as passing Geometry for Math and Chemistry for Science. Community college is an option if I need higher levels of both first..but what do I do as far as schooling, like what colleges are the best to go with and what is the cost?? Anyone??

first off, i have been an EMT-B for the past 6 years. the way i did it was i joined my local Rescue squad. once i joined they put me through schooling which was through the county's fire academy.it consisted of 110 classroom hours, and then 12 hours volunteer in an Emergency room.

You'll find everything you need right there. They have a class October 6- December 14, 2008. If that EMS Academy is not near  you, call or email them and ask them for the one closest to you. GOOD LUCK :)
