How do I become an actress?

I want to be an actress. How do people do this? Do you have to have an agent? Does being in plays increase your chances of getting discovered?

I wanna do acting to. Well just friday i signed up with Entertainment Work. You'll have to pay about $18.  But it seems like its worth it. Their site has all these acting jobs listed, whether you wanna do Feature films, tv, commercials, music videos anything.         To be able to become an actress, you have a lot of work ahead of you.  If you do become an actress, it will all be worth it.

        You will first need to prepare yourself for auditions and casting calls.  Attend some acting classes to put on your resume.  Another thing you can do is join the drama club at your school or act in others plays in your area.  The more plays you have been in, the more you have on your resume!  With a fuller resume, you show that you have a great interest in and dedication to acting, something that many agencies and companies look for!

        You will also need head shots and other photographs taken by professional photographers for your future auditions.  This will most likely cost you a lot, so you might want to start saving.  One of the most important steps that you will need to take is to find an acting agency.  Acting agencies will find auditions for roles that they think are suitable for you.  You will need to audition for a spot in an agency, so do some research and practice, practice, practice!

        If you are planning on being a TV or movie actress, you could get used to being in front of the camera by having someone take videos of you.  This could possibly help you if you are camera-shy.  Everyone gets a little nervous in front of cameras sometimes, even famous actors and actresses.  They have just found ways to deal with it, most likely by experience.

Be yourself.  Don't try to act like another actress.  Originality is always good in show business.  2.  Don't be afraid to smile at auditions.  This shows that you are happy and excited about acting.  3.  Most importantly, enjoy what you are doing!  If you don't find enjoyment in it, it's not what you should be doing.

well...becoming an actress isnt sumthin thats gona happen over nite. U need practice by going to different acting schools, then doing plays and meeting with people that can get u started on your acting career. but if it doesnt happen then  may b it jus wasnt meant 2 b. but if u keep trying then ma b it jus mite happen n  prove me rong!!!!

Go audition for shows and create albums if you have a good voice check in the phone book for Drama, theaters etc...
