I have always wanted since I was young to have my own magazine. I just don't know how to set it up or go about doing it. I live in Ireland so it may be harder to establish.

  1. Go into the printing trade (newspaper?) and grow into it  and get contacts that way  That maybe your only way if you have not been through university for media studies

  2. In theory you can start with a computer and printer producing an A/4 mag. Get others to contribute and find your market. Ask a friendly newsagent to stock it and if all goes well as popularity grows get them printed professionally! I know someone who makes £75,000 per anum selling his A/4 yearly magazine! He prints it at home.

  3. Go to a local newspaper or magazine and offer to intern or something of that nature. It's probably going to be difficult to get into, especially if you don't have a degree in journalism, but if you're willing to start low and work your way up, you can make it.
