I am looking to start a not-for-profit organization. The purpose of the organization is to provide payeeship to individuals that need assistance with budgeting and money management. However, after reading the SSA website, it stated you needed to be a bonded organization. How do I go about doing that in NYS?

  1. A local insurance agent can sell you both the insurance you need, and the bonding.   Be sure to tell them which kind of bond you need, and if it's a state bond, the bond form.
